Lauren Asher is een auteur waarvan ik alles wat verschijnt nou eenmaal móét lezen. Begin 2022 las ik al haar dirty air serie, en later ook de Dreamland Billionaires. Recentelijk verscheen Love Redesigned; het eerste deel van een nieuwe serie, The Lakefront Billionaires. Vlak na verschijnen viel hij bij ons op de mat, en inmiddels heb ik hem gelezen. Dit is wat ik van het verhaal vond:

In Love Redesigned volgen we Dahlia en Julian. Beide personages vond ik erg tof om over te lezen. Dahlia omdat ze eigenwijs is en ook zeker niet op haar mondje gevallen. Ze komt naar Lake Wisteria om bij haar moeder op bezoek na een nare relatiebreuk. Ze is een succesvolle interieurontwerper en heeft zelfs haar eigen TV-progamma. Ik vond Dahlia een erg tof personage om over te lezen. Ze maakt als personage een mooie ontwikkeling door, waardoor ze erg realistisch aanvoelt.

 Als ze net in Lake Wisteria aankomt botst Dahlia -letterlijk- tegen haar jeugdvijand; Julian.

Julian is een Billionaire en wat voor een! Vanaf de eerste bladzijde dat je hem voorbij ziet gekomen stal hij gewoon mijn hart. Hij is grumpy, maar op een leuke manier. De manier hoe hij en Dahlia met elkaar omgaan en praten is echt fantastisch. Je ziet ze van rivalen naar vrienden naar lovers gaan. Dit gebeurt op een hele natuurlijke manier.

Dan hebben we ook nog de setting. Lake Wisteria ken je al als je Final Offer, het laatste deel van de Dreamland Billionaire trilogie, hebt gelezen. Ik ben echt helemaal verliefd op het small town aspect van Lake Wisteria. Terwijl je aan het lezen bent voelt het bijna alsof je er zelf rondloopt.

Wat ik ook enorm tof vond om over te lezen was het project waar Julian en Dahlia samen aan werken. Het is een renovatie van een oud huis in Lake Wisteria en alleen dat al is tof.  Tijdens dit project merk je dat ze steeds meer aar elkaar toe groeien.

Het boek heeft de nodige portie humor en blijft lekker luchtig. Wat ik een mega leuk detail vond was de cross-over naar de Dreamland trilogie!

Lauren Asher heeft een erg beeldende schrijfstijl waardoor de setting en personages enorm realistisch aanvoelen. Persoonlijk vond ik Love Redesigned zelfs het beste boek van Lauren Asher tot nu toe!

Lauren Asher is an author who is really an auto-read for me. I simply HAVE to read whatever she writes. In 2022 I read the Dirty Air series and loved all of those books. Later, I also read the Dreamland Trilogy and loved them even more than the Dirty Air series. When her newest book, Love Redesigned, came out, I immediatly started reading. This is what I thought about Love Redesigned:

In Love Redesigned we follow Dahlia and Julian. I loved reading about both main characters. Dahlia just came out of a nasty break up and is spending the summer with her mother in Lake Wisteria. She is not afraid to speak up for herself. She’s a succesfull interior designer and even has her own TV- show. During the story she developes a lot, wich makes her a realistic character to read about.

When she arrives in Lake Wisteria, Dahlia -litterally- bumps in to her childhood rival, Julian.

Julian is a small town billionaire. I loved him from the very first page. He is a bit grumpy in the beginning, but a nice kind of grumpy. The way he and Dahlia act when they are around eachother is so fun to read. What’s even more fun, is their banter. The way Julian and Dahlia started as rivals, then went to friends and ended up as lovers seemed very natural.

I also loved the setting of this story. If you’ve read Final Offer, the third and last book in the Dreamland Billionairs trilogy, you already know Lake Wisteria. I personally love the small town aspect and the way Lauren Asher wrote it, makes it feel as if you are walking there yourself.

I also loved reading about the project Julian and Dahlia take on together. During this project, which is a renovation of a House in Lake Wisteria, you see them grow closer and closer together.

Love Redesigned has no lack of humor, the story stays heartfelt and light. I also loved the cross-over to the Dreamland Billionaires trilogy!

Lauren asher has a unique style of writing. I honestly loved every single page of this book and can’t wait for the next book in this series!

In my opinion Love Redesigned is the best Lauren Asher book yet!
